Colonel Town Recreation has a playground and pool in the summer.

Lancaster has great shops like Simon the Tanner, and New to You Consignment if you’re looking for a bargain. On weekends in the summer, the Lancaster Historical Society hosts a flea market and there’s a weekly Farmer’s Market packed with fresh food, handmade jewelry, textiles, and woodwork on the Weeks Library common. Riff’s Flower Shop is the town staple for the freshest and most creative arrangements.

Climb a 4,000-Footer

The nearby Presidential Range boasts several. Mt. Waumbek (4,006 ft) is 15 minutes away. Caps Ridge Trail on Mt. Jefferson is the highest road-accessible trailhead in NH.

5 minutes away. Easy day trip. 360° view from Weeks State Park fire tower. Drive or hike up.
